A second man has been arrested in connection with the death of Edward Gallagher in Cork city last weekend.

A second man has been arrested in connection with the death of Edward Gallagher in Cork city last weekend.

Edward Gallagher was found with knife wounds in the Friar's Walk area of south Cork in the early hours of Sunday and died later in hospital.

A man (27) from Ardcullen, Holyhill in the city, was arrested by gardaí in connection with the stabbing yesterday.

Gardai said a second man in his 20s was arrested on the north side of Cork earlier today and is being questioned in the Bridewell station under section four of the Criminal Justice Act.
