A major search operation is underway in Cork City for missing University College Cork student Brian O Tuama.
The 19-year-old arts student was last seen outside McDonald's on Daunt Square in the city at 1.40am.
The alarm was raised when he did not return to his student accommodation at Aras Ui Thuama, the Irish language section of the University Hall student residence.
He is described as being 5ft 11inches in height, with longish dark brown hair and blue eyes. He was wearing a grey jumper, dark jeans and vans shoes.
The second year student is a native of Ballymakeera, just outside Macroom in Co Cork.
