The search for a missing German tourist is continuing in Co Fermanagh this morning.

The man went missing after a boating accident on Lough Erne.

A fellow German died when the cruiser they were on ran aground on Cleenishgarve Island in Lower Lough Erne, said the RUC.

Hopes of finding the man alive are now fading.

A helicopter and inshore lifeboat are taking part in the search.

The tourists had hired the cruiser from a local boat yard on Saturday at the start of their holiday and the vessel was found overturned on Sunday morning.

It is understood that they had a lot of experience on the lough, having hired a cruiser there every year since 1988.

The RUC contacted Interpol and the German authorities to inform the men's families.
