An inquest in Galway has heard how a Scottish woman on a cycling holiday in Connemara with her young daughter was killed in a road traffic accident when she was trapped beneath a car after colliding with it.

Passing drivers helped to lift the car off Ms Isobel Murray of Polteallach, Strathpepper, Ross-shire, but she had been crushed by the vehicle.

The accident happened at Lettermuck on the afternoon of July 22nd.
