Edinburgh - Scottish Tories yesterday presented an Edinburgh lawyer, Mr David McLetchie, with the brief of leading them back into mainstream Scottish politics.
Mr McLetchie's election as first-ever leader of the troubled Scottish Conservatives came on the same day a NOP poll revealed that only 13 per cent of the Scottish electorate intended to vote for the party in the forthcoming Scottish parliamentary elections.
