A Co Tyrone schoolgirl has been refusing to go to school as she is being verbally abused by her peers since having a baby, Cookstown Juvenile Court was told yesterday.

The court heard the girl (16) has been staying away from school frequently since giving birth two years ago. Her solicitor, Mr Jarlath Faloon, said she was now arranging to enrol in a new school. He explained that she was due to finish school in June. The case was adjourned for a month to monitor the position.
