Creagh national school in Co Galway has won the overall award in the Esso Schools Wildlife Programme with its project examining the disappearance of corncrakes.

The school, which was chosen from six finalists on both sides of the Border, was presented with the prize by the Northern Ireland Minister of State, Mr Adam Ingram, in Belfast yesterday.
