An inquest into the death of a mother-of-two gunned down in her Dublin home was today adjourned for the State to consider whether to bring charges over the killing.
Latvian Baiba Saulite (28) was shot in the hallway of her home in Holywell Square, Feltrim Road, Swords, on November 19th, 2006.
Her two young sons, Ali-Alexsandra (5) and Mohamed Rami (3), were asleep in the house at the time.
At Dublin County Coroner's Court Detective Inspector Walter O'Sullivan of Coolock Garda Station requested an adjournment for a year.
"Criminal prosecutions are being considered by the DPP," he told Coroner Dr Kieran Geraghty. Dr Geraghty adjourned the inquest until March 10th, 2009.
Detectives believe Ms Saulite was murdered by a man known to her. She knew she was in danger and was in contact with gardaí. Her Swords-based solicitor had been given Garda protection in the weeks before the killing.
Detectives have made a number of arrests but no one has been charged with the brutal murder.
Ms Saulite was buried in her native Riga in December 2006.
