Paris - The former Mexican president, Mr Carlos Salinas, wrote but failed to show up when summoned by a French magistrate for questioning about funds seized in France and suspected to be drugs-connected, justice sources said on Monday. The sources told reporters that Judge Patrick Fievet had summoned Mr Salinas, who now lives in Ireland, for a meeting in his chambers last Thursday about money found in bank accounts opened in France by his brother, Raul.
