TEN people have died on construction sites so far this year, according to figures issued by the Health and Safety Authority (HSA). Inspectors with the HSA have found that many, sites do not meet minimum safety standards.

The HSA is to begin a campaign to inspect a large number of construction sites. For two weeks from September 23rd all HSA general inspectors will concentrate on inspection of these sites.

Because it is a pre announced campaign, the HSA says the inspectors will expect good standards of health and safety.
