United Nations - The nomination of the Swedish diplomat, Mr Rolf Ekeus, as chief UN arms inspector for Iraq is "unacceptable," a spokesman for the Russian delegation to the United Nations said yesterday.
The UN Secretary General, Mr Kofi Annan, recommended Mr Ekeus after consultations among members of the Security Council failed to produce a consensus.
