AN RUC inspector appeared at a special court in Limavady, Co Derry, last night on nine charges of deception, corruption and perverting the course of justice. Insp Derek J. Robinson (41), c/o Omagh Police Station, Co Tyrone, was remanded in custody to Strabane Magistrates Court on February 13th on charges arising out of the current investigation into second hand car dealing in the Tyrone Fermanagh and south Derry areas.

Two officers and three car dealers have been remanded on bail on charges arising out of the investigations which saw two more police officers suspended from duty yesterday.
