An attempt by RTÉ to have its 26-acre Montrose campus rezoned for housing and commercial development was “outrageous”, Fine Gael TD Lucinda Creighton has said.
RTÉ has made a submission to Dublin City Council to have its lands rezoned under the new city development plan, which is being drafted.
Ms Creighton, who was a member of the council until elected to the Dáil in 2007, said RTÉ should not engage in property speculation, and land it was not using should be returned to the State.
