WORKERS at the Irish Country Meats plant in Roosky, Co Roscommon, have been put on protective notice by the company, pending a decision on the plant's future, as a result of a dispute which has involved the laying off of 35 boners. A ballot on Wednesday of the 375 workers at the factory rejected Labour Court recommendations for resolving the dispute. They had been accepted by the company and were due to be implemented last 60 boners packers at the Irish Country Meats plant in Ballaghaderreen, Co Roscommon, staged unofficial action there yesterday in a dispute involving 15 boners made redundant last Friday.
