A Romanian asylum-seeker staying in emergency accommodation in Castleblayney, Co Monaghan, gave birth to a baby girl early yesterday. Stana Rodica (18) and her partner, Micula Sorin (19), are both seeking political asylum.
The Department of Justice confirmed their daughter Micula-Lamita Elisabeta is an Irish citizen and automatically entitled to stay here.
