The 58 children who were withdrawn from Bofeenaun national school, Co Mayo, last week because of rat infestation were still at home yesterday.

The Department of Education has sanctioned the building of a new school, but this will take a year. The parents committee and the school management are seeking alternative accommodation. The children were withdrawn on the recommendation of the Western Health Board.
