An armed robber has been given a chance to continue a residential anti-drugs course.

An armed robber has been given a chance to continue a residential anti-drugs course.

At Dublin Circuit Criminal Court yesterday, Judge Kieran O'Connor told Patrick Scanlon staff in Coolemine House were pleased with his progress.

Scanlon (26), of Rathvilly Drive, Finlgas, pleaded guilty to armed robbery of £70 from a Glasnevin hair salon on June 22th, 1995. He admitted possessing a sawn-off shotgun during the robbery and a second charge of stealing £400 from a woman on June 29th, 1995.

The case was adjourned until July 29th for reports.
