A roadside bomb blast injured three US soldiers in northern Iraq today.

The military said the explosion took place west of Mosul. Additional details were not immediately available.

In recent months, such devices have become one of the weapons of choice among Iraqi insurgents. The bombs - usually made from mortar shells and explosives, like TNT - are routinely placed along the side of roads and detonated as American convoys pass.
