Provisional Garda road accident figures for March show an increase in the numbers killed. There were 34 deaths and 837 injured during the month compared to 22 killed and 782 injured in the same period last year.
In the three months ended March this year, 92 people died and 2,405 were injured, compared with 81 fatalities and 2,210 injured last year.
