Rival Bray plans to be discussed

A public meeting to discuss coastal protection plans for Bray seafront is to be held in Bray Town Hall at 7.30 tonight.

The meeting, organised by Bray Urban District Council, will examine two separate schemes, one produced by the Department of the Marine, the other advocated by the local group, Bray Beachwatch, which claims the Department's proposal would deprive residents of a sandy beach adjacent to the harbour.

The town clerk, Mr Joe Boland, says both schemes are adequate and there is little difference in cost.

A final decision will be taken by the council in February.
