The Union flag was burned during a riot in Maghera on July 12th last year, the Magistrates Court in Magherafelt, Co Derry, heard yesterday.
Eamon Martin McCusker (21), unemployed, Sunnyside Park, Maghera, was sentenced to three months' imprisonment, suspended for a year, when he admitted riotous behaviour and behaviour likely to lead to a breach of the peace.
