Rioters attacked RUC members as they removed ballot boxes from a polling station in Derry last night. RUC Land Rovers arrived at Slievemore Primary School in the mainly nationalist Carnhill area when officers collecting ballot boxes at the school came under a stone and petrol bomb attack.

The police fired baton rounds and the crowd of 500 eventually dispersed.
