Reynolds nephew fined £750

A Dublin night-club owner was fined £750 yesterday for failing to file tax returns

A Dublin night-club owner was fined £750 yesterday for failing to file tax returns. John Reynolds, a nephew of the former Taoiseach, Mr Albert Reynolds, pleaded guilty to three counts of failing to make returns between 1994 and 1996.

A defence barrister told Dublin District Court the situation resulted from an oversight and a failure of communications between Mr Reynolds and his accountant. The returns had since been made.

Judge Timothy Crowley mitigated maximum fines of £1,000 to £250 on each of the three summonses.
