Review: Sharon Corr, Electric Arena

Sharon Corr, Friday, Electric Arena

Sharon Corr, Friday, Electric Arena

Atmosphere: Mellow. Very, very mellow. When Shaz came on stage there was maybe 100 people in the crowd. By the end her audience had swelled to three times that number but by any definition it was still very low key.

High: She played some of her own tunes including new single Over It which were pleasingly poppy but will she ever escape the legacy of the Corrs? It seems unlikely. Certainly the biggest cheers of the evening were reserved for songs such as Radio and the Fleetwood Mac cover Dreams. The other high point came when she was joined on stage by brother Jim for a frenetic version of Puff The Magic Dragon. Or maybe we just dreamt that.

Low: The bloke at the front shouting 'Sharon. Up the Town!'

Quote: There's two fellas up the front who've just shown me their chests. Not unusual at a festival I suppose but one chest says Sha and the other says Ron. I like it guys!

Verdict: if you like this sort of thing...
