Atmosphere: Feisty and irreverent. The Dublin band – sounding like a punky, synthy mutation of The Sugarcubes – played to a smallish gathering of dedicated fans. With the exception of MayKay, who looked like an 80s goth superhero, they were decked out in skin-tight, uber-bright one-piece outfits. On some songs the contrast of MayKay and Pockets' voices sounded endearingly contrasting - like a duet between Nina and Oscar the Grouch.

They were playful, but well-rehearsed and their sound was drum-tight.

High: Their one cover (of Salt-N-Pepa's Push It) was dynamite.

Low: Those thin, uber-tight costumes left nothing to the imagination, and one band member in particular was quite exposed...

Quote: "That was a moonwalk...appreciate!"

Verdict: The FLApes deserve their reputation as a powerful and fun live band and their energy was matched by an appreciative audience. It'll be interesting to see how they evolve over the next few years.
