A delegation of residents of south Armagh campaigning for a reduction in British military activity in the Border area, including the removal of army hilltop observation posts overlooking the Republic, met the Northern Secretary, Dr Mo Mowlam, in Belfast yesterday.

The committee said Dr Mowlam expressed concern and agreed to visit south Armagh to assess the situation. Meanwhile, plans are going ahead for a public rally on Sunday at Glassdrummond to highlight the campaign.
