A TOTAL of 77 incidents of a radiological nature have been reported to the Department of Energy since 1990. In a written reply, the Minister, Mr Lowry, said four of these related to this year.
He told Mr Eric Byrne (DL, Dublin South Central) that notification arrangements had been working satisfactorily since 1986, although he would like the scope of formally notified incidents extended to include incidents not involving a release of radioactivity.
