Advice and experience from parents whose sons or daughters are gay or lesbian has been combined in a report published today.

"If Your Child is Gay or Lesbian" will prove a valuable resource for parents, said Minister of State at the Department of Health and Children Mr Tom Moffatt.

It was jointly launched by Parents' Support - which provides support and information - and the Equality Authority of Ireland.

Mr Moffatt said: "Many parents of gay and lesbian children feel isolated and may not know that support is available."

Copies of the report are available from Gay Switchboard (01) 872 1055.
