Gardaí in Dublin are renewing their appeal for the mother of a baby boy abandoned in February to come forward.

The baby was found in a sports bag at a bus stop on Clanbrassil Street on February 28th.

A woman came forward on March 2nd, claiming to be the baby's mother. However, gardaí said today she was not the natural mother.

The baby was never handed over to this woman, but remained in the care of the Eastern Regional Health Authority.

Anyone with information is asked to ring the gardaí in Kevin Street or the Garda Confidential Number on 1800 666 111.
