A man who beheaded statues of St Patrick and the Virgin Mary had strong views against mainstream religions, Cookstown Magistrates' Court heard yesterday. Mr Desmond Campbell (31), Milltown, Dungannon, Co Tyrone, was remanded in custody for a week for a medical report. Mr Campbell admitted damaging the statues in a disused school in Dungannon and stealing the eyes from one of the statues.
