A one-time “enforcer” in the Loyalist Volunteer Force has been jailed for three years for a catalogue of crimes.
At Belfast Crown Court yesterday, Judge Patrick Lynch told Neil Hyde (32) that had he not agreed to identify the alleged culprits in the murder of Sunday World investigative reporter Martin O’Hagan and give evidence about the activities of the outlawed LVF, he would have jailed him for 18 years.
Hyde received a heavily reduced sentence for pleading guilty.
