The Flood tribunal has heard fresh evidence about massive payments by builders to the former assistant Dublin city and county manager, Mr George Redmond.

Mr Redmond had amassed over £1 million in assets by 1998, even though he never earned more than £29,000 a year, the tribunal was told yesterday.

He kept money in 38 different bank accounts, many of them opened in the Irish version of his name or using fictitious or false addresses.
