A STATE car plastered with posters for the FF candidate in Donegal North East, Cecilia Keaveney, was spotted driving up Kildare Street and onto St Stephen's Green. A servant of the Coalition was so perplexed he rang the Department of Justice, which controls such matters, to ask which Minister had jumped ship.

Inquiries revealed the car belonged to Maire Geoghegan Quinn, the fomer justice minister whose successor, Nora Owen, has allowed her to hold on to the car beyond the one year limit when she broke her ankle at a Christmas party.

She was no doubt on her way to Donegal. A complaint was lodged with the former minister and the posters were removed. One wonders how long Nora will let Maire keep the car now.
