BOGOTA - Anti government guerrillas killed 31 soldiers and injured 18 in an ambush of an army barracks protecting an oil installation, officials said.

Guerrillas also dynamited the trans-Andean oil pipeline, they said. Lieut Col Alberto Moreno said guerrillas used hand grenades in and other explosives in the attack, which occurred at a barracks in the southern town of Puerres.
