Nairobi - Southern rebels in Sudan called a unilateral three-month ceasefire yesterday to help famine victims receive food.
Aid agencies welcomed the decision by the Sudan People's Liberation Army (SPLA) to create safe corridors for the provision of aid. Last night, the Sudanese government responded by declaring a one-month ceasefire.
