Concrete supplier Readymix said today it had entered into an "arms length" commercial agreement with the Mexican group Cemex.

Reaymix said the deal will allow it the group's proprietary business model and information technology systems.

The agreement - which will initially run for a three-year period - will also permit Readymix to use the Cemex brand name and trademark in Ireland.

In a statement, Readymix said the cost of adopting the business practices and the technological platform has been estimated at €3.7 million, with estimated annual running costs of €2.3 million.

Cemex SA is a majority shareholder in Readymix.
