Royal Bank of Scotland has requested a listing of its ordinary shares at Euronext Amsterdam, it said in a notice published in a Dutch newspaper.

"It is expected that the shares will be listed on Euronext in euros with . . . symbol RBS with effect from 15 October 2007," the bank said. Fortis will act as listing agent.

RBS, Fortis and Spain's Santander had clinched victory in the biggest banking takeover on Wednesday, declaring their €70 billion offer for ABN Amro unconditional.
