A Waterford factory worker who raped a woman in 1994 has been remanded in custody for sentence by the Central Criminal Court Barry O'Shea (23), a machinist, of William Street, Portlaw, admitted he raped a woman in a factory at the Tycor Industrial Estate, Waterford, on or about April 9-10th, 1994.

O'Shea cried and began shaking when the charge was read to him and he muttered "Guilty".

Mr Justice Paul Carney ordered a victim impact and probation reports. He remanded O'Shea in custody to October 22nd.
