Scotland Yard said Terrence O'Keefe was dangerous and should not be approached.

O'Keefe (39), had been taken from a secure medical facility at Lambeth hospital in south London to Kings College Hospital, but was found to be missing yesterday afternoon.

He was spotted nearby in Brixton an hour later, police said.

O'Keefe, who is known to have connections in both London and Liverpool, is serving a life sentence for rape.

He escaped from the same hospital in October 2005.
