The jury in the trial of a Bosnian charged with raping a Dublin prostitute was sent to a hotel last night having failed to reach a verdict by 8 p.m.

The jury of seven women and five men is to return to the Central Criminal Court this morning to continue its deliberation.

During the three-day trial the 44-year-old accused man pleaded not guilty to three charges of raping a 49-year-old woman in his Dublin home in the early hours of July 1st, 1995. The woman no longer works as a prostitute.
