The jury in the trial of a Co Roscommon farmer charged with rape is to return to the Central Criminal Court today to continue its deliberations.

Mr Justice Flood sent the jury to a hotel last night after it had spent more than two hours considering the case.

During the three day trial, the 51 year old farmer has pleaded not guilty to raping and sexually assaulting a Co Galway mother of six in his home on July 30th, 1995.
