The Supreme Court has rejected an appeal by a former member of the Army Rangers Corps to be allowed to pursue a claim for damages against the Army for a foot injury he received during a training exercise.

Mr Patrick O'Connor, of Drumroe, Castletroy, Co Limerick, a retired corporal, claimed the Army failed to provide reasonable care for his safety when he jumped 14 feet from the side of a building on September 30th, 1987.
