A rally driver was killed on Sunday when his car went off road and hit an electricity pole during a rally stage outside Ballina, Co Mayo. The car driven by Mr Robert Masterson (26) from Castlepollard, Co Westmeath hit a bump at high speed near Cloghan village. The front seat passenger was slightly injured.
