Raiders used a 4X4 to ram a filling station in Co Carlow this morning and steal cash from a bank machine inside.

Raiders used a 4X4 to ram a filling station in Co Carlow this morning and steal cash from a bank machine inside.

The vehicle was used to crash through the shutters of the shop on Church Street, Bagenalstown at about 8.50am.

Once inside the raiders damaged the ATM, a Garda spokeswoman said. She said it was not know how much cash was taken during the incident. The 4X4 was abandoned at the scene, she added.

Detectives in Bagenalstown Garda station are appealing for witnesses to contact them on 059 9721212.
