Raider steals cash from Co Dublin bank

A man armed with a handgun stole a sum of cash from a bank in north Co Dublin today.

A man armed with a handgun stole a sum of cash from a bank in north Co Dublin today.

The lone raider went into the AIB bank on Church Street, Skerries at 3.55 and held up staff and customers. No shots were fired in the incident.

Meanwhile, gardai are still searching for thieves who took cash and a car from a Co Laois post office early morning.

At least two raiders tied up the postmaster and his wife at 4 a.m. in Timahoe Post Office, Stradbally. They stole the safe, which contained up to €9,000.

The thieves also took the couple's 10-year-old Toyota Carina, which is remains missing. The couple were not hurt.

No arrests have been made.
