Police in Belfast are seeking the public's assistance following an armed robbery in the east of the city this afternoon.

The raid happened at a bank on the Upper Newtonards Road shortly after 1.35pm when a raider armed with a gun entered the premises.

The man escaped with an undisclosed sum of money. The police have appealed to the public for information.
