LONDON - An 18th century pearl bracelet worth up to £40,000 has been stolen from a display cabinet at Buckingham Palace, a palace spokeswoman said last night.

The theft of the bracelet, featuring a miniature portrait of King George III, was discovered when a member of staff noticed the lock on the cabinet has been forced.
