IT HAS taken almost 100 years, but finally George Bernard Shaw's best-known play, Pygmalion, will be performed at the Abbey Theatre. The play, which was first performed in Vienna in 1913, has gone through dozens of adaptations most notably in My Fair Lady.
The latest production, directed by Annabelle Comyn, runs for six weeks from Wednesday, April 27th. Charlie Murphy will play Eliza Doolittle. The role of Professor Higgins will be played by well-known actor and mimic Risteárd Cooper. It will be followed in June by a new production of Brian Friel’s Translations.
