Publisher's wife killed in accident

MRS Gretchen Crosbie, the wife of the chief executive of Examiner Publications, Cork, Ltd, has died in a traffic accident.

MRS Gretchen Crosbie, the wife of the chief executive of Examiner Publications, Cork, Ltd, has died in a traffic accident.

The late Mrs Crosbie, who was in her 50s, was driving to Cork from Dublin when her car went out of control and hit an electricity pole at Abbeyleix at about 4.30 p.m. yesterday evening. She was alone in the car at the time of the accident.

A native of Cork, she was married to Mr Ted Crosbie who heads the company which publishes the Examiner. She had six children, was involved in a number of local and national charities and was well known for her church related voluntary work in Cork.
