The public is invited to commemorate the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi today at an event in Dublin entitled "The Relevance of Gandhi in Today's World".

An audio-visual show and mini book exhibition organised by the embassy of India in Dublin will be held from 4.30pm to 6pm at Milltown Institute of Theology & Philosophy, Sandford Road, Dublin 6.

The United Nations has deemed Gandhi's birthday the "International Day of Peace and Non-violence" in remembrance of his work for civil rights and freedom worldwide.
